Welcome to the QUANTUM MATRIX. Simply put, the Quantum Matrix may be said to be the warp and woof of all creation, the invisible tapestry inside the Unknown that anchors and connects all things. The essential nature of the Matrix is numinous and cannot be fully embraced by the conscious mind, yet the conscious mind is anchored in it and senses its presence. And although the Matrix does not endeavor to explain God, it seeks to illustrate an aspect of God that our conscious minds may touch and ponder.
The essence of Quantum Matrix, while touching upon current scientific thought, is actually an intuitive assumption that may, in part, be supported by science. Let us explain. Presently, within the world of science, there are discussions taking place regarding the conflicts between Quantum Mechanics, Newtonian Mechanics and Einstein's Theory of Relativity. Each of these offers a perception of the underlying structure of matter, yet these three perceptions do not agree. Then there is the Unified Field Theory that attempts to prove that all physical phenomena can ultimately be explained by an underlying unity. Now, something called the String Theory is being considered as a means to bring these disparate theories into harmony.

As you can see, there is a wholesale investigation ensuing around the explanation of physical phenomena. And at the heart of these inquiries is the question of whether the nature of the universe is one of "pattern" or "chaos."

We mentioned the Unified Field earlier. Quantum Mind would like to introduce a unified field of a different nature - the Quantum Matrix - which has eerie similarities to the Unified Field of science. The Matrix may be defined as the blueprint of change that underlies the breaking down and building up of everything in existence. It is the infrastructure of universal principles and laws pervading all orders of reality, from the subtlest energy through the densest matter. It is the dynamic power-grid that develops all possibilities within Being and Becoming.

The Matrix exists both within and without. As an internal system within each human being, it promotes development, healing and wellness. For instance, operating through our Autonomic Nervous System, it is the Intelligence that heals a cut on our arm. And beyond the physical level, it is the Mind that is the dispenser of karma. It operates automatically and without our assistance. It is also the means by which the Soul maintains integrity during earthly life.

Without, as an external system, it is that which holds the galaxies together, and the Wisdom that develops an acorn into an oak tree. It is the "collective unconscious," as named by Carl Jung, wherein is stored the feelings, thoughts and memories shared by all of humanity.

"Well," you may be saying, "this description of the Quantum Matrix sounds very much like a description of God. What's the difference?" Good question. Quantum Mind cannot say that the Matrix is God because God is Indefinable, Unnamable. However, the Matrix may be considered the closest we can come in our attempts to describe the fabric of the Unknown.

Why? Because the Quantum Matrix is at the point of First Cause. You see, before anything can take form, the possibility to take form must first exist. If we were to take a dense object and rewind it, so to speak, from its current state of density back through its more subtle forms we would eventually get to the point where only the potential of this object existed. This potential or possibility comes from the Matrix. It is the invisible scaffolding upon which all creation takes form and develops according to its individual blueprint.

Let's look at the Matrix in a different light. Perhaps you are familiar with the Hindu God and Goddess, Shiva and Shakti. Shiva represents pure Being - Being that is beyond words, Being before it has been named or differentiated. Shakti represents the spontaneous throb of creation or the bursting forth of joyous expression. She expresses the possibilities of Shiva in specific ways. The Quantum Matrix may be said to contain both Shiva and Shakti - Being and the various expressions of Being, or Being and Becoming.

In that the Matrix contains Shiva/Shakti or Being/Becoming, we can say that it is both changeless and ever-changing. Shiva, changeless; Shakti,ever-changing. Earlier we talked about the Quantum Matrix being at First Cause. Applying the principle of First Cause here means that in order for change or creation to occur, first the possibility of change must exist - and that possibility is changeless.

This notion of "changeless yet ever-changing" is key to the discussion of "pattern" and "chaos" presently occurring inside the scientific community. How does the Quantum Matrix relate to this discussion? Just as the Matrix contains Shiva/Shakti it also contains pattern and chaos. However, Quantum Mind suggests that "chaos," as defined by science, is merely the "appearance" of chaos and a word chosen to label subtleties that are not yet entirely understood. And, if we go beyond the label of chaos we can see that it is the space in which change occurs and where all possibilities for change exist.

We suggest an "appearance" of chaos because apparent chaos is a symptom of change. We can understand this by observing change in our own lives. Change can be said to be the breaking down of one reality and the birthing of another. When the solidity of what we think we know breaks down, the unknowns become more prevalent than the knowns. The unknowns are not chaos but simply the fertile ground upon which the new idea or job or partner will sprout.

Quantum Mind proposes the possibility that God may indeed "play dice with the universe" yet not quite as Einstein had refuted. Rather, these dice as they tumble unpredictably through the cosmos innately know when to land and where. And the Quantum Matrix observes and embraces this Divine delight - the delight of Shiva allowing Shakti the amusement and freedom of expression.
